Thon Hotels has opened its first Budget hotel at Gardermoen. With 260 double rooms only 5 minutes drive from the airport Thon Hotels enters the competition in what is currently the most dynamic hotel market in Norway.
Thon Hotel Gardermoen is a modern budget hotel with wireless internet access, breakfast facilities and an exciting architecture created to suit travellers. Guests may apply automatic check-in and check-out, and at the same time the reception is open 24 hours.
The first 140 rooms are ready to accommodate guests. The remaining rooms will be ready during the coming year. The Budget hotel is situated adjacent Thon Conference Gardermoen Park. The conference centre will be expanded with new facilities and hotel rooms in 2007. When the new Conference-hotel opens in October 2007, Thon Hotels will be the largest hotel chain in the region with a total of 550 rooms.
Thon Hotel Gardermoen has a large parking lot and shuttle buss service to the airport. During rush hours the shuttle bus departs four times per hour and two times per hour beyond that. Even though the hotel market at Gardermoen has been known for its relatively high prices Thon Hotels charges its normal Budget prices which is NOK 595 per single room and NOK 795 per double room.
