Vakantie Engeland
Een bekend en redelijk populair land dat bij de Nederlanders minder in trek is voor een vakantie is toch wel Engeland. In de meeste gevallen gaat het om een stedentrip in Londen of een familiebezoek elders in Engeland.
Veelal is er een bed and breakfast te boeken in de steden. Voor een voetbalreis is Engeland zeker een geschikte bestemming. Wekelijks reizen duizenden buitenlanders af naar Engeland om alleen de sfeer in het stadion te proeven.
Engeland is tegenwoordig makkelijk en goedkoop te bereiken. Via de veerboot, al kost je dat twaalf uur heen en twaalf uur terug, of met het vliegtuig, echter betaalt u dan meestal iets meer, alhoewel de prijzen een lachertje zijn bij maatschappijen als Ryan Air. De Eurostar, de trein die onder de zee door naar Londen verkast, is een afrader. Het vliegtuig is goedkoper en sneller. Al vallen de reistijden van de Eurostar ook reuze mee.
Voor de bierdrinkers onder ons is het zeker een aanrader om eens een echte Engelse pub binnen te stappen. Een zuipwedstrijdje tegen de lokale bevolking is daar ook onbegonnen werk.
Verder zijn de meeste winkels in Engeland maar tot 17:30 uur open. Als u uw horloge niet goed gezet hebt is dat 18:30 op uw polsklokje. Zorg dus ervoor dat het horloge aangepast is naar het tijdsverschil, dit voorkomt ergernissen.
Wat u ook niet moet vergeten is dat het paspoort bij binnenkomst minimaal zes maanden geldig moet zijn. Dus als uw paspoort bijna verlopen is moet u snel even een nieuwe bestellen. Verder moet er betaalt worden met de pond. Eén pond is meer waard dan één euro.
