‘one million fish keep still; it is as if the sea has gone to sleep’ (Herman de Coninck)
As photographers, Herman en I have been to lots of places and we’ve stayed the night in a wide variety of accommodations scattered all over the world. From a simple hut in Goa to a barn in Romania, from a ‘spa’ in Odessa to luxury hotels in LA or low-price rooms in NY. It gives a pleasant feeling to ‘come home’ even when you are abroad.
Since we wanted to make other people feel this way in our own city, we started our own Bed & Breakfast. The ‘first room’: a ‘Chinese opium room’ with a touch of a Parisian boudoir from the 1920’s was converted into a playful space with a large, open bathroom and terrace. We opted for a ‘naughty’ interior in combination with informal luxury (rain shower, bathtub, flat screen television, internet connection, refrigerator, extra long bed...). In the first place it is a room where you can dream away.
And since we know that the way to our guests’ hearts is through their stomachs, we serve them a delicious breakfast in their room. Our B&B is situated in the heart of the magnificent city of Ghent, within a stone’s throw of the Belfry.
Smoking is not allowed (except on the terrace). We have a bicycle shed and there is an underground car park within walking distance. Annie is the hostess of our guest house. She will give you a warm welcome.
