Delightfully peaceful holiday site located in an area of natural beauty close to a beautiful, child-friendly beach which you can fish from. Put and take lakes close by.
Kalundborg is well worth a visit: well-preserved 15th century houses, the ruins of Kalundborg's fortifications, the foundations of the square tower, "the foal", from the time of Valdemar Atterdag (the 14th century), the church of five spires, the museum, and Råes Banke where the remains of the castle keep from Esbern Snare's day (the 12th century) can be seen. The town of Dalby in the direction of Slagelse lies, as its name suggests, cosily tucked in between high hills (Danish: dal = valley/dale, by = town) which were made even higher in about 3,000 BC by towering burial mounds and contain Denmark's highest passage grave – the 2½ metre high Rævehøj. There is a fantastic view from the top. The Viking stronghold Trelleborg lies between Slagelse and Korsør, a ringwork from 980.
