Our lovely restored house has 6 en suite bedrooms, we have a extra bed available for children 4-±14 years and a cot for the ones up to 3 years.
There is a cosy diningroom with a big traditional fireplace (Lareira), a sitting room with television, a library and a nice garden with excellent views.
The house is situated on the borders of the river Miño in the wine growing area the ‘Ribeira Sacra’ in the heart of Galicia. Nature starts right on our doorstep, with old chestnut trees, oaks, mimosa and a lot of wild flowers. We have walks available from the house. The shortest one leads you a 12th century ruinous chapel, the longest one leads through nature, vineyards, rural countryside, passes some Romanesque churches, follows a Roman road and brings you back to the house via the dam: the ‘Embalse de Belesar’. All these routes are suitable for the mountain bike too. We have two bikes for renting out.
The area offers you numerous possibilities for a daytrip by car, here are some examples:
*Visit Lugo, 45 car-minutes away, with its 2000 years old Roman wall, the old centre, the Roman bath and the lovely Provincial Museum.
*You can have a nice trip with the catamaran on either the river Miño or the river Sil.
* Make a daytrip or two along the many Romanesque churches and monasteries.
* Visit the remains of a Celtic village.
* Have a nice restful day on the river beach.
*Visit Santiago the Compostela with its impressive Cathedral, 90 car minutes away.
*Also Ourense with its hot thermal springs and nice old centre is worth a visit.
* And don’t miss out on Monforte the Lemos, a daytrip to O Courel; a daytrip to the Roman goldmines etc....
When all of this sounds like too much effort than you can relax and have a nice local wine in our
garden.
