Our regular customers have known it for years: the location of the Campeggio Lido Mappo, a five-star camping site and a trusted family company, is not only a declaration of love for the landscape. Situated right on the shores of Lago Maggiore, the deep blue water of the lake reflects the magic and unique beauty of Ticino; the rolling green hills and mountains, seething towns with Mediterranean allure and typical
Ticino villages which, with their places of interest, traditions and old ways, testify to both the present and the past.
During the summer you can make free use of the ferry which leaves from the mooring point Tenero in the direction of Locarno. There you can walk beneath the palm trees or in the alleys and see all sorts of shops. The mooring place is eight minutes walk and there is also a free shuttle bus. You can also walk straight to Locarno via our beautiful promenade along the shore; with a length of five kilometres this stretch is also a wonderful walk for the non-sportsmen.
Whatever site you choose you will be right next to the lake with a magnificent, splendid view. You can enjoy to the full the idyllic park landscape with its ancient trees. With us you will have the most beautiful holiday, right in the countryside but still with every modern convenience.
Our guests have available to them a 250 metre long, natural shore section with a sunbathing area and beach; a little further on there is a raft on the water where you can lie in the sun.
The «green heart on the blue lake» has 420 sites (see the layout); of which 36 sites lie immediately on the shore; 61 sites are permanent sites.
With the exception of the permanent sites you can, if you wish, reserve sites. Each site has, of course, a power point (230 V, 10 Ampère).
We pay a lot of attention to the proper care of our camp site and pay strict attention to the proper condition of the comfortable, modern sanitary facilities with a heated washing and shower area. For the care of our very smallest guests we have our baby room and a nice, safe play area for the children.
Now that we are talking about service: An enthusiastic approach and attention to the wishes of our guests are, to us, self-evident. We honour our family tradition which goes back to 1957 and we will do everything in our power to make sure that they are enjoying themselves.

In the restaurant you are protected from the sun under the pergola and you will be served a very varied menu from the popular Ticino cuisine.The Lido Mappo shop is almost a small supermarket; here you can get all your daily shopping.Also special is the wide range of various types of tasty bread which is fresh every day, even on Sunday.
You can enjoy with us the pleasant, family atmosphere, you can completely relax and the successful mix of recreation, sport and games, good living and the Mediterranean experience will do wonders for your welfare!
Our guests camp comfortably and in harmony with nature, they have the opportunity to reserve one of the 26 sites alongside our own landing jetty, to wander via the promenade all the way to Locarno and to enjoy the personal service. Your camping holiday at the Lido Mappo will be a wonderful experience of which you will retain a lasting memory.
By the way: we are focused on care for the environment. The camping site has an electrically-driven caddy and, of course, good, clean facilities for the removal and recycling of waste..

Take a look as well at our regulations in which we point out that young guests under the age of twenty usually only can camp with us under the supervision of adults.Our camping site is also not open to groups. In the interests of the welfare of our guests, it is not permitted to bring a dog.
