Uddeholms hotel and Restaurant is situated in the beautiful village of Uddeholm (locally known as the Golden Shore) on the banks of the Råda lake.
Uddeholms history dates back to the 17th century; in Stjärnfors museum nearby you can find tracks of it. In the vicinity you can partake in many sports, enjoy a musical festival or visit a museum or other places of interest.
The hotel ground, which spans over more then 9ha, invites you to take an exploring and refreshing walk. On the spacious porch on the backside of the hotel you can overview the lake, whilst you enjoy something to drink or eat.
Uddeholms hotel consists of a main building and three seperate annexes.
In the main building you will find the reception, there are two dining rooms, and a cozy lounge with the bar. The farthest dining room can be closed of from the other rooms, so that you can enjoy the privacy of your meal with the group you’re with. From there you can enter the spacious porch which has a view on the garden and lake.
The hotel rooms are all situated in the three annex buildings. The more exclusive rooms have a TV, alarm clock and the possibility to make your own coffee or tea. All rooms have their own bathroom. Around 50% of the rooms have lakeview.
After a busy day it’s a good idea to relax in one of our sauna’s.
The hotel has four Finnish sauna’s, three indoor and one sauna outside at the lakeside. From the outside sauna you have a beautiful view across the lake. This sauna is heated by wood. For refreshment you can take a dive in the lake which lies 10 metres from the sauna. In winter time you can dare yourself into a chilling snowball fight and for the real dare devils, a dive in a hole in the ice.
Uddeholms Hotel offers you besides our hotel and restaurant facilities also a number of recreational areas.
For the doers there’s a recreational area situated in the basement of the southern annex. Here you can play table tennis, darts or a game of pool.
Outside are tennis courts which you can use. The crystal clear water of the Rådasjön is perfectly suited for swimming. Next to the outdoor sauna is a beach on which you can sunbath (as of spring 2007).
Uddeholm is situated in the community of Hagfors. Hagfors is known for its superb surroundings with an extended network of cycle- (included mountainbike), skate- and hiking paths and its perfect canoe possibilities. Or choose for rafting on the Klarälven - a real topper.
The province of Värmland where Uddeholm is situated has a land climate. This means real winters, most of the time with snow and ice from December until April.
Although in this region you are not absolutely sure of snow, the lake is covered with thick layer of ice every winter. It is a real paradise for all kinds of ice sports.
In spring and autumn there are many things to do. Exciting is the intense change of seasons. In spring the nature comes to life within a few days as if it has to gain the lost time. In only a short time all plants are flowering and you can enjoy an exuberant sea of flowers.
The autumn colors the birches and maples in gold and red. There are mushrooms and berries everywhere and because of the 'allmansrätt' (every mans right) you are allowed to pick as many as you want. The weather is most of the time better than in England due to the land climate: the Norwegian mountains stop most of the rain.
